Who are you exactly?

By Unknown
Each time I go out to share the gospel of Christ to people, I always ask a simple question before I continue my aim. Are you a Christian? This is the question I often throw to them, and this is one of the reply I received; “I’m a Christian, I go to church,” so funny how people see Christianity as going to church or praying and fasting. If you were asked, what will be your reply to that question based on the kind of life you have been living? Will your answer be the same as stated above? Let's not be deceived by anybody, being a Christian is not just going to church or joining any unit in the church, but rather living the life of Christ - a life of righteousness and holiness.

Yes, you may be a chorister that sings
well, an usher that ushers well, an instrumentalist in the house of God or even a pastor in a church, but here comes a question for you; What do you do when you leave the church? What is your attitude outside the holy ground? Many are so holy when it comes to Sunday services, they want to be seen on the stage performing before great number of persons, some even battle for musical instruments, they want to be the one with the microphone, play piano, guitar or jazz band whereas they don’t live the life of Christ. Why try to be popular if you can’t be popular in the face of God? Why pretend to be who you aren’t?

Who Are You Exactly?
Are you that kind of chorister that sings to God, but doesn’t mind going to boyfriend or girlfriend's place after the close of service and even fornicate that same day before leaving? Are you that kind of usher that sees your duty as an opportunity to make money from the offering or tithe you count? Or maybe you are a pastor that preaches the gospel to people, get lives saved but when you get home, you battle with you wife and family.

Christianity has become something else; people now do all they want to do without being conscious of the eyes of God. Sin has become a normal thing in our eyes because we lack the fear of God. Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? (Romans 6:1) Why pay back your savior with a bad coin? He saved us all; He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by his wounds we are healed. So tell me; what greater love has any man than the one Christ has for us that he laid down his life for us? Is there any?

So why treat God as if He is nothing to us? Or is it because we don’t see Him? Even if we don’t see Him, we should know that He is seeing and watching us. We should be afraid of His wrath. The respect we have for great men and women, even our elders or parents has by far surpassed that which we have for God. Let me bring to your knowledge that the life you live today is not your own, you were bought at a price, therefore you shall give account of that life when the owner of lives shall come.

Romans 14:11-12 (KJV) For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. We can never escape the judgment of God. Let’s serve the Lord with the whole of our life, let’s come into is presence with a repentant heart and stop all pretense, worship Him in spirit and in truth. But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15). Make that decision today.

I don’t know about you, but I would rather have nothing and know Jesus than to have everything and not knowing Him. Giving my life to Christ was the best thing that ever happened to me. Do you desire to have Him in your life? click Here
