What makes us different should be seen in us as Christians

By Unknown
I'm a Christian - I go to church, I’m a Christian - I read my bible; I pray, I fast... and so? Is that all about Christianity? Funny how many claim to be Christians simply because they attend church services, funny also how they think reading the bible and praying is all they need to do in their Christian race. What is Christianity in your own definition? What makes you a Christian? You go to church, unbelievers go to church as well, you read the bible, even agents of satan have more knowledge of it than you do. Yes you pray, how many people don’t pray? Almost everybody prays. Thieves pray to be successful in their mission, prostitutes pray for huge payment after their services, even politicians who do betray their fellow opponent also pray to emerge the winner in an election; so you see, we all pray. So, what makes us difference?

As Christians, there should be a clear distinction between us and the public (unbelievers), we shouldn't be rubbing shoulders together in any way. Ask yourself this; what can I do that an unbeliever cannot do? If there isn't anything, then I think there is need for you to re-dedicate your life to God.

Being a Christian means living the life of Christ, imitating His ways, it also means not to be found in any way subscribing to unbeliever's lifestyle. This is why we are Christians; this is why we are different. We are not living just to belong to the group called Christians, if that is our aim, then we have failed in our Christian living.

Why are we living if we cannot take challenges? Why shouldn't our presence bring about change in the environment we are in? Spiritual gifts are for us but yet many of us lack them. The church calls for prayers, and everyone is praying in a general language, we can't even point out the real eggs from the rotten ones. Has tongues ceased? Where is prophesy in today's church? Or is the Holy Spirit no longer carrying out God's business? Acts 2:1-4 says '' When the Day of Pentecost had fully come; they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.''

When last did we experience this stirring of the Holy Spirit individually or collectively? When last did we communicate with our father and got a reply from him. Christianity has so become a part time program for many that they don't border if they are backsliding or not. Many of them don't know their stand neither do they know what the word of God says. This is why whatever thing they hear is capable of pulling down their faith in God. Instead of studying and meditating on the word of God for spiritual growth, they have chosen to handle the word of God just the same way church bench warmers do.

Think about this word, search your life to see where the problem is coming from? Know what you ought to do as a child of God, get connected to Him in full time. It is often said you can't serve two masters at a time, so don't even try to do that, for in this world - only two things are involved, you are either for God or for the devil - there is no middle ground!

I don’t know about you, but I would rather have nothing and know Jesus than to have everything and not knowing Him. Giving my life to Christ was the best thing that ever happened to me. Do you desire to have Him in your life? click Here
