Is
so annoying each time I see wealthy people drive pass beggars on street without
even looking at their faces, they feel too big that they think extending their
hands to the poor or giving help to the needy means bringing their selves down.
Greediness and selfishness has so gone into many that they no longer care for
their neighbors nor do they care for the needy.
God has blessed so many people with the riches of this world for them to be helpers to people in times of need, but looking around, you will discover that this same people who God has blessed, have failed to fulfill their assignment. All they border about is their
God has blessed so many people with the riches of this world for them to be helpers to people in times of need, but looking around, you will discover that this same people who God has blessed, have failed to fulfill their assignment. All they border about is their
family. They sit down to discuss the type of
building they want next, the type of car they should spend money on, how they
will change their wall rope, eat whatever thing they like whereas, people are
dying of hunger, some don't even have where to lay their heads on, the sick are
been discharged not because they don't need the treatment, but because they
can't afford the hospital bills. The orphanage homes are lacking financially,
the motherless and fatherless babies are suffering, struggling to have one
square meal. People cry day and night unto God for help, who will tell them
that the helpers whom the Lord has sent have become a disappointment to Him?
The world is really wicked, and I tell you the truth, this wickedness is also
found among the Christians (if not more).
Do we really understand what it means to love our neighbors as ourselves?
Do we really understand what it means to love our neighbors as ourselves?
As
Christians what is the place of giving in our lives?
I so much respect the attitude of Prophet J.B Joshua when it comes to helping the poor and the disable. It is not my business to judge or criticize his ministry like some people does - I’m not God.
As Christians, we should show good example to the world, we are not just mere believers in Christ, but also helpers to people. God has blessed us not just for ourselves and family members, but also for the needy to benefit from the blessings of God. This in turn brings them closer to God, and so makes evangelism easier. Let's not be cold when it comes to helping people, let's not get tired of helping the poor. The bible says '' it is more blessed to give than to receive.'' Loving your neighbors involves giving, sowing into lives, and giving food to the hungry. What of if I don't have money – is that your question?
Then give out material things, many of us have clothes and shoes we no longer use - give them out, people needs them, you can as well spare one out of your three square meals to someone, they are all giving. Is my prayer for us this day, to see the need to help people in Jesus name!

I don’t know about you, but I would rather have nothing and know Jesus than to have everything and not knowing Him. Giving my life to Christ was the best thing that ever happened to me. Do you desire to have Him in your life? click Here
